Coastal Tails Newsletter: Spring 2026

Honoring Those Who Make Our Work Possible

Thank you to all Volunteers for your compassion and the countless hours you give to the shelter.

A special thank you to Debra Fournier. Although health issues required her to step away from her shifts at the Cat Shelter, Debra remains a very active participant. She donates beautiful handicrafts for our booths at the Convention Center which she staffs as well, and she assists with cat adoptions. She undertook to repaint the entry, living room, and kitchen in the Cat Shelter, brightening the space for cats, volunteers, and the public.

Thank you to all the veterinarians and their staff caring for the shelter cats and dogs. A special thank you to Dr. Brian Becker, who volunteers his time to regularly come to the shelter to perform intake wellness examinations for all new arrivals and oversees vaccinations for all.

Thank you to the community for the generous

response to our Pet Food Appeal, including North Beach Eagles and Eagle Riders for cash donations and commitment to continue collecting food.

Grants help fund our community programs and special projects. Thank you to our partners at the Albohn Foundation for a $10K grant to support our public Spay/Neuter program and to the Grays Harbor Community Foundation for a $16.5K grant to repair the garage sale barn roof.

Volunteers in Action: Behind the Scenes

Our volunteers are the heart of our work. We are proud to be 100% volunteer-run and are deeply grateful to everyone who gives their time and compassion to support our shelter animals. Special thanks to those who regularly walk our shelter dogs, play with the kitties, sort donated items for the garage sale, and help wherever needed.
