Paw Prints Newsletter 2nd Quarter 2023

Updated: Aug 22, 2023

Help Us Build a Better Place

North Beach PAWS recently launched a multifaceted fundraising campaign to Build a

Better Place, a brand-new, state-of-the-art dog shelter. While we have been able to

increase cat shelter capacity to well over 1,000 felines per year, the shelter has only

been able to service an average of roughly 180 dogs per year for the past seven years.

The new, planned state-of-the-art 3,700-square-foot shelter with 20 kennels will provide

excellent housing relief for dogs and help alleviate community need and demand. We’re

actively seeking to raise a total of $2.5 million to fund the construction of the new facility,

which will be located on the current campus, through grants, corporate giving, and small

business and private donations. Sponsorship of kennels, rooms, and equipment is

available at various donation levels, which includes sponsor recognition. Click here for

North Beach PAWS Participates in National Adoption Weekend

As a Best Friends Network partner, North Beach PAWS participated in Best Friends National Adoption Weekend June 30–July 2. The shelter was open for additional days and hours for adoptions and 13 cats/kittens found their forever homes. According to their website, “Best Friends Animal Society is a leading national animal welfare organization dedicated to ending the killing of dogs and cats in America’s shelters. To help Save Them All, Best Friends works with shelters, rescue groups and our members nationwide.”

Vaccination Clinic

North Beach PAWS is conducting a dog and cat vaccination clinic Saturday, August 5, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the John M. Smith Aquaculture Center at Grays Harbor College, 1620 Edward P. Smith Dr., in Aberdeen. Vaccinations and microchips are $20 each. Dogs must be on a leash and cats must be in carriers. The event will also feature a food bank for pets and people, as well as raffles with numerous prizes.

Attendees are encouraged to visit the North Beach PAWS information booth to find out how to volunteer, become a foster home, learn about spay-neuter programs and/or donate.
