Humane Lobby Day in Olympia, WA
Choosing to bring a pet into your life can be a tough decision, especially when deciding where to get one. You might also have concerns about "puppy mills" or "backyard breeders" and how to avoid them.
The 2017 session of the Washington State Legislature officially kicks off on Monday, January 9, and will run through Friday, April 21.
Lynnwood PAWS monitors bills that impact animals and you can also keep track of bills by visiting the legislature home page. Bills that are going through the House of Representatives start with the letters “HB” while bills going through the Senate start with the letters “SB.” When a bill has another “S” in front of it, this means it is a substitute version of the bill.
Visit the Washington State Legislative homepage to learn more about how bills become laws.
Remember, legislators and policy makers need to hear your voice so they know that animal welfare issues are a priority, so reach out to them and share your thoughts!
